Executive and Leadership Coaching

I offer 1:1 coaching programmes for executives and leaders, tailored to individual and organisational needs.

My coaching programmes generally include:

  • A complimentary discovery session with the coachee to check fit/chemistry.

  • A set-up session with the coachee and programme sponsor* to clarify expectations and proposed focus areas.

  • A welcome and preparation questionnaire for coachee.

  • Individual 1:1 coaching sessions in person or via Zoom

  • Tailored learning content to support coachee to develop their leadership brand and enhance their leadership confidence and impact.

  • Additional tools and resources as required between sessions, tailored to specific goals and needs (for example, relevant TED talks, articles or exercises).

  • On-call support from me throughout via text/email.

  • Agreed check-in calls with programme sponsor.

  • Completion session with coachee and programme sponsor to review progress, obtain feedback, and set coachee up for ongoing success.

Bespoke programmes and half-day/full-day coaching immersions are also available and can be tailored to your needs.

*All discussions during coaching sessions will be confidential between the coach and coachee, however I recommend that the coachee's direct manager or another appropriate leader takes on the role of programme sponsor. This will ensure alignment with organisational priorities, and provides the opportunity for updates and insights on additional ways to support the coachee.

I encourage coachees to share their goals, learning and progress with their manager/sponsor as part of their ongoing development.

I landed the dream job I’d articulated during coaching literally days after finishing the programme. I’ve also continued to apply the mental models learned during coaching and see ongoing benefits, especially in my approach to family life.
— Rhys, Managing Director

My Coaching Approach:

I use a range of solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural coaching techniques, combined with applied neuroscience and positive psychology strategies. What does this mean in practice? It means that I use tools and techniques tailored to help you stretch, learn and grow, and I’ll keep you focused on actions, outcomes and solutions.

The coaching relationship is driven by what you want to achieve; I don’t have an agenda. Together we’ll work on specific goals that are visually compelling, exciting, and a stretch. My background in leadership and change means that I can also provide guidance and expertise, and I will offer a blend of educating and coaching as appropriate.

I won’t tell you what to do; I provide information and help you to gain insights and access your own solutions, which means you’ll be more committed to taking action.

You can expect me to be supportive and encouraging, with a genuine desire to help you make positive change. At the same time, I’ll stretch you to develop and grow. I’m not here to be a paid friend or counsellor – I’m here to keep you accountable as well as to encourage and support you.

Ruth is an amazing coach and mentor. She helped push and guide me in having the courage to confront my own inner critic to make proactive changes in my own life and career. Ruth does this in what felt like a very unassuming way, yet clearly very skilled and talented in what she does.
— Kim, Learning & Development

Why it Works

My coaching works because it helps you to really understand yourself and expand your thinking. Once you get to know yourself better, you’ll understand what’s truly important to you and set authentic goals that you’re excited about and motivated to achieve.

By helping you think differently I’ll guide you to gain your own insights and ‘aha moments’, which are powerful catalysts for change. These breakthroughs will energise you and give you fresh perspectives on old challenges and behaviours.

I’ll help you to recognise patterns and habits that might be holding you back, and you’ll create strategies and actions to make change and move forward. Of course, I’ll also keep you accountable and this in itself will accelerate your progress.

You’ve 100% been great, and really inspirational and supportive - I’ve told everyone I’m doing coaching and it’s been life changing - it really has! It’s changed me as a person…
— Fiona, Finance Manager

Why Work With Me

As well as choosing a coach with the right fit for you, you’ll want to know you’re in good hands with a coach who knows what they’re doing. That’s why I continue to develop my own skills both through formal certifications and learning, and through continually participating in coaching myself.

If you want to know more about my formal credentials, you’ll be glad to hear that I’m a member of the International Coach Federation and have a range of coaching credentials.

Simple hour long sessions, either face to face or remotely, act as great touchstones providing clarity, direction and a valuable sounding board, whereas her immersive half day sessions are just incredible, and potentially career defining. In these deeper highly personal coaching clinics, Ruth allows you to dig deep into what drives you, what defines you and to unpack what you want actually want from your career.
